This book is a compilation of interviews conducted with creative professionals from various fields (designers, photographers, illustrators, producers...) discussing their understanding of beauty and aesthetics and how it applies to their work and lives. The work is the result of Bruno Ortega's final project for the Postgraduate Course in Graphic Design - Concept and Application at FAAP, completed in 2017.
"What is beauty to you? How do you define what is beautiful or not? Is it subjective or inherent to the object being contemplated? Have you ever asked yourself these questions?
Many professionals in today's world deal with these issues on a daily basis - designers, illustrators, photographers, artists. But do these individuals also question what beauty and aesthetics truly mean? After all, these are concepts that they all understand in some way - or at least manipulate.
In this book, these questions and more were asked to these professionals. And their answers, although highly personal, are true reflections, as diverse (and sometimes divergent) as they are interesting. Reading and understanding the thoughts of each personality, and their different professions, is to understand a new world; it is to become acquainted with a new reality, a contemporary thought that is both close and distant at the same time. What is beauty to you?"
